- Cell body with nucleus
- Small extensions are dendrites
- Usually one large extension is the axon (not really possible to say
which that is in this image)
- Lots of small nuclei visible in the background are neuroglia cells, which
have a supportive function.

Conduction of electrical impulses from sensory receptors, and to effectors.
